Our volunteers have planted buddleia, one of the best-known nectar flowers for adult butterflies, alongside verbena, sedum, hebe, marjoram – and many more! The butterfly larvae, caterpillars, will feed on the hops and other native greenery.

Come along to Seed Swap Sunday in Olden Community Garden, organised by Quill Street Allotments
– bring your quality surplus seeds (bought or saved – but labelled)
– bring envelopes and pens to take swapped seeds
– meet fellow gardeners and share local knowledge

Volunteer gardening days have resumed. We are preparing the ground for our new butterfly garden. And the rose bushes are pruned and ready to be fed – a huge thank you to Freightliners Farm for bags of manure!

Saturday volunteer gardening will start on 18th February, also 10am-4pm. Come along at any time and join our gardeners, Maria and Caroline, who will guide you. No experience needed. A wide variety of tasks is available – opportunities to suit everyone. Coffee and cake provided!
