Butterfly garden making good progress

Like a butterfly…!

Our volunteers have planted buddleia, one of the best-known nectar flowers for adult butterflies, alongside verbena, sedum, hebe, marjoram – and many more! The butterfly larvae, caterpillars, will feed on the hops and other native greenery.

Butterfly garden in progress

Volunteer gardening days have resumed. We are preparing the ground for our new butterfly garden. And the rose bushes are pruned and ready to be fed – a huge thank you to Freightliners Farm for bags of manure!

Join us next week, Tuesday 14th and Saturday 18th February, for half-term family activities. Come along any time between 10am-4pm. Everyone welcome!

Happy New Year!

After the winter break, our volunteer gardening days will start on Tuesday 7th February, and will be held every Tuesday, 10am-4pm. Saturday volunteer gardening will start on 18th February, also 10am-4pm. Come along at any time and join our gardeners, Maria and Caroline, who will guide you. No experience needed. A wide variety of tasks is available – opportunities to suit everyone. Coffee and cake provided!

Seasons Greetings!

Thank you to everyone who has helped to make 2022 such a successful year for Olden Community Garden!

Best wishes to our neighbours and local community groups and to our members and volunteers.

And a Happy New Year!
